Synopsis The Generation X kids begin to settle in to life at Xavier's and prepare to train for being the next generation of mutant heroes; Banshee, Jubilee and Synch head to the airport to meet their latest recruit, Jonothon Starsmore, but he is immediately attacked by the mutant vampire, Emplate; Gateway teleports the rest of the team in and Emplate is driven off; Returning to the mansion with Chamber, they discover a wounded mutant on the grounds and Gateway whispers the name "Penance."
